History
Wren Industries, Inc., was
founded in 1977 by Mr. George Derr. Initially providing
production metal stampings for the automotive and
appliance industries, Wren Industries expanded its scope in 1988
with its first strategic acquisition of the Jena
Tool Corporation— an established, respected tool and
die shop with precision machining
services and full design capabilities, founded in 1968.
When the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was ratified by
the United States, Mexico and Canada, Wren Industries sought out
and found a strategic partner located in Mexico City. Its proximity
to significant OEM manufacturing operations made a new joint venture,
Racsa-Wren an inevitable success. With the full weight of Wren
Industries and Jena Tool supporting the new operation, the joint
venture enjoyed a smooth launch.
Responding to customer requests for capable, qualified minority-owned
suppliers, Wren Industries worked with local minority
leaders, to create Wren
Enterprises, a minority-owned
partnership. Wren Industries serves as a mentoring
organization, providing technical resources and sound guidance
to its minority partner.
Today, the combined strengths of these four companies, under the umbrella
of Wren Manufacturing Group, is strategically positioned to offer
a full line of manufacturing services to manage
your program from concept to production and beyond.
Mr.
Derr, a US veteran, still owns and is actively involved in the
business.
